Depending on the features you use, Cinemate may collect:

  • Username / display name
  • Watchlist and favorites
  • Anonymous device identifier (used for the Shared Watchlist feature and for advertising)
  • App preferences and settings
  • Technical information required to operate the application

Cinemate does not collect payment or banking information. Purchases (such as the optional Pro upgrade) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, and Cinemate never has access to your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Synchronize your Watchlist across devices
  • Enable the Shared Watchlist feature between devices
  • Improve app performance and reliability
  • Personalize your experience
  • Respond to customer support requests

3. Data Storage

Your data may be securely stored using Firebase or other trusted cloud services used by Cinemate.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

4. Advertising

Cinemate displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob.

To comply with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and GDPR requirements, the app requests your permission before using tracking identifiers, and presents a consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) to users in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland before showing personalized ads.

You can review or change your advertising privacy choices at any time from Profile → Ad privacy options within the app.

AdMob may collect device identifiers and advertising interaction data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Your information is shared only when necessary to provide our services (such as with Google Firebase or Google AdMob, as described above) or when required by applicable law.

6. Data Deletion

You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by contacting us.

Cinemate allows users to:

  • Discover TV series

  • Save movies and TV shows to a personal Watchlist
  • Share a Watchlist with others via a share code
  • Search entertainment content

2. Content Sources

Movie and TV show information displayed in Cinemate is provided by trusted third-party services, including:

  • The Movie Database (TMDB)
  • YouTube (Official Trailers)

Cinemate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TMDB or YouTube.

3. Copyright

All movie posters, trailers, images, logos, titles, descriptions, and related content remain the property of their respective copyright owners.

Cinemate does not claim ownership of any third-party content.

4. Streaming and Downloads

Cinemate does not host, store, or distribute movies or TV series on its own servers.

If streaming or download options are provided, they must come exclusively from legally authorized content providers.

Users are responsible for complying with the copyright laws applicable in their country.

5. Optional In-App Purchase

Cinemate offers an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase ("Pro") that removes advertisements. This purchase is processed securely by Apple through the App Store and does not renew automatically.

6. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Any activity performed through your account remains your responsibility.

7. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the application for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to hack, modify, or disrupt the application
